And More on Prague

So... I think Jessie covered pretty much everything I did up to Friday. Friday we toured the concentration camp Terezin, which you don't want to hear about, even if you think you do. The opera was pretty fun, though.

Saturday, Mika and I accidentally lost Laurie, Jessie, and Edward somewhere between the hotel and the astronomical clock, and had to set out to find the musical instruments museum on our own. We got lost for quite a while, but eventually found it. The downstairs area was filled with large, confusing, interactive, things for small children. Upstairs, we found the section of the museum that had lots of actual musical instruments in it, such as pianos with quarter-tones, harpsicords, and really weird viola things with two sets of strings. I managed to set off security alarms twice by getting too close to old-fashioned keyboards. (The first time, I was pointing the strings on the clavichord out to Mika from some two feet away, and the second time, I was just trying to read a sign.) We also saw predecessors to the euphonium, which Mika found exciting.

It was about 3:00 by the time we left and picked up lunch at Subway. We briefly stopped by the medieval torture museum, but it was disturbing so we left. Then, I bumped into Jessie at the hotel. Mika and I went by an art exhibition, and then we sat with Jessie and watched some children play percussion instruments on the stage in the town square until it was time to meet the API people to go back to the airport.

When I read the sentence about the concentration camp, I knew it was Sarah from the style it which it was written. . . "which you don't want to hear about, even if you think you do." That is a real Sarahism.
