I'm still waiting with bated breath to see how I react to employment. Yet, I'm not letting the remaining two weeks of freedom go to waste. I've pretty much for the most part almost absolutely finished the portrait of Laurie I've been working on. Now I've started on my next portrait (of Zoe), all in preparation of the Da Vinci exhibit. Even if Mr. Ross doesn't pick these paintings and hopefully chooses one of my other works, at least I'll have some nice new portraits in my portfolio.
Meanwhile, yesterday was a fun times time. John traveled all the way to my house to be my chauffer. We started with some down-home style lunch at the Cedar Post. While this tiny restaurant has existed all of my conscious life, yesterday was the first time I've ever eaten there. The chicken and dumplings were quite tasty and you can't beat cornbread muffins. Thereafter, we headed over to John's to figure out what to do next. First came Primavera, for John. Then Starbucks for me, because I'll choose free over quality more often than not. Coffee led to a shortlived venture to the mall. I say shortlived, because before we'd driven five minutes from Starbucks we decided leaving the mall in five o'clock traffic was not for us. I came up with a superior idea, of which I'm sure John will agree, to head over to Whole Foods and eat samples instead. So, extended commentary on strange food stuffs and various samples later, we left with happy hearts and stomachs. I'm only sad we missed the free massages being given, which I didn't notice until we were checking out. Can't have everything I suppose.
Anyway, time passes. We chillax for a while. Then the Litzinger family and I headed over to Carrabbas' for my most favorite pasta dish ever: Tagliatelli Picci Pacchui! So yeah, good culinary times all around.
I guess as my final note, I must share the web-article I used to check my spelling of bated breath. Not only does it give the spelling, but the history. I found it interesting, at least.
