Gourmet Dinner

John and I made the most fabulous dinner yesterday. Besides visiting Starbucks and the Galleria, we scoured various food places for our ingredients. Our inspiration: Laurie's tasty sounding chicken avocado recipe. That's right, we grilled chicken, baked avocado, drizzled it with white wine vinegar dijon mustard sauce and, wait, there's more. John borrowed an Alton Brown recipe to make toasted broccoli with toasted Panko (Japanese Bread Crumbs) and white cheddar cheese. Then, all of his own design, we tossed a fruit salad including baby spinach leaves, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, mandarin oranges, toasted walnuts, and poppyseed dressing. As you can see, the meal was amazing. I'm still craving the avocado chicken today.

John even took us out to Bruster's for Cake Batter icecream!!
Meanwhile, John and I spent a good part of our day, somewhat embarrassingly, preparing a surprise for Laurie. So I hope she enjoys the following message that all her loving friends created especially for her.

And, just because it's a nice picture, a bonus photo of Leslie.

Hey Nicolas, all four of us are from Alabama in the Southeastern USA.

I'm currently living in Ireland, and am using this blog to keep in touch with my friends. Really, the only people who post are myself and Jessie, but it makes for interesting (I hope) contrast. Thanks for stopping by!

Where are you from?

Of course I got a kick out of it! It's super awesome!

Also, your chicken avocado thang looks super delicious. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did (cause it's seriously probably one of the best meals I've had in ages).
