Good-times weekend!

While some of us are off galavanting on islands, others of us are making the most of the breeze on the roof of the parking deck. I waited ten minutes for my Gran to get off work so that she could take my picture.

But that was last week. The true fun began on the weekend. Friday, John and I celebrated my first paycheck by buying a really expensive dinner at The Melting Pot. For my first true fondue experience, the restaurant was really great. Pricy, but great. For our appetizer we chose a spinach artichoke dip and they supplied plenty of bread, chips, apple chunks, and raw veggies to dip in it. Next came the salad. John went with the ceasar and I the mushroom and spinach. Then, came the giant plate of raw meat. To boil in our herby broth we had carribean jerk beef, vanilla bean rum chicken, butternut squash ravioli, shrimp, pork, and filet mignon. Here's John cooking the side of vegetables that came with.

My favorite was definitely the shrimp, but we both loved the ravioli ... and filet mignon ... and it was all pretty much delicious. Of course, what we were all waiting for was the desert.
White and dark chocolate melted into a delicious brew for our plate of strawberries, cake, brownie, rice crispy treat, marshmallows, and cheesecake.

We were ready to puke in the end there, but in a good way.
Saturday, John DNDd with Chris and Trent, while I played with my newly purchased sudoku/slitherlink puzzle book. Slitherlink is similar to sudoku with some connect the dots thrown in. It's a lot of fun.
Sunday, John and I went to see Tropic Thunder starring Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Cruise, along with guest appearances by Toby McGuire, Jennifer Love Hewitt, John Voight, and many more which I cannot recall. Wow ..... wwwwwow. They definitely went all out. I left the theater in smiles, but there were definitely parts where I could only shake my head. Thereafter, we went with John's parents to purchase his much anticipated new tv. It's a 32 inch flat screen. While anything would be better than his old, blurs anything red in a creepy fashion tv, his new one is particularly nice.
Now I have a test tomorrow, so I need a good night's sleep! Hope a couple somebodies are having fun on their island, and somebody else is having fun taking care of freshmen, and somebody else is having fun with their adventure into supplied statistics!
